A new study published in the Canadian Journal of Diabetes this past July 2016 revealed that adopting a plant-based diet can help in the management of Type 2 diabetes and even reduce the need for diabetes medications. The researchers found that a plant-based diet can be just as effective, and maybe even more so than the other diabetes diets recommended especially for weight loss, heart disease factors and diabetes indicators. A need for more user-friendly plant-based guidelines for patients was recommended. This is great news for the 29 million Americans who struggle with Type 2 diabetes. To read the abstract click here.
